Game Day Flow


Date and time

  • The Math Game Day is for 1st-8th grade students in the U.S.
  • The Winter Game will take place on December, 11, 2019.
  • Due to the time difference, there will be 2 online tournaments in the U.S. on the same day.
  • The first tournament starts at 10 am Eastern Time.
  • The second tournament starts at 10 am Pacific Time.

1st-2nd grade starts at 10:00 AM
3rd-4th grade starts at 10:30 AM
5th-8th grade starts at 11:00 AM
The MGD ends at 11:20 AM


  • Check the detailed timetable for your grade level here.
  • Teacher registers teams before December, 9, 2019. You cannot register teams after the deadline.

Teams and registration

  • A team is a group of minimum 5 players.
  • Teacher registers teams before the registration deadline. Students don’t need to register.
  • Teacher can register multiple teams.
  • A team can consist of more than 5 players, but the total score of the team will be a sum of 5 best players.

Competition details

  • Participation is free for all of the U.S. teachers!
  • Math Game Day is an online competition. You don’t need to leave the school.
  • Players will need individual smart devices/computers and good connection to the internet.
  • Each team plays 3 games and competes with other teams of the same grade level.
  • Classmates, teachers and parents root for their favorite players online!

  • All of the players will receive digital certificates! You can print them out and present to your teams on the next day after the competition.
